Rain has failed to quell Canadian wildfires, and more smoky haze is on the way, officials say Canadian officials say a large amount of rain in Quebec in recent days didn’t fall in the areas where there wildfires are most active and they expect air quality to remain a concern through the summer, as long as the fires continue. AP News

That means at least another day, or more, of a dystopian-style detour that’s chased players from ballfields, actors from Broadway stages, delayed thousands of flights, and sparked a resurgence in mask wearing and remote work — all while raising concerns about the health effects of prolonged exposure to such bad air.
