Today marks the 6 month anniversary of Sandy’s landfall!
THANK YOU for everything that you have done over these past six months to help Staten Island recover.
It is amazing to think about all of the loving people who have passed out food and supplies, mucked out homes and sprayed mold, counseled and comforted people, advocated for resources, canvassed communities, and so much more! Thank you for your dedication to this collaborative recovery process.
We all know that there is so much more to be done. Our neighbors need a coalition with members that are dedicated to the recovery process for the long haul. Let’s show our love and commitment by diving into this recovery work with renewed enthusiasm!

Tonight at 6pm at the intersection of Midland Ave. and Father Capodanno Blvd. all residents and recovery helpers are invited to gather together for a community vigil recognizing Sandy’s 6 month anniversary. We will share stories, pray together, sing together, and commit to a continued, unified recovery effort.

There is also a volunteer appreciation celebration tonight at Bungalow 18 (18 Nelson Ave) starting at 6pm and going into the evening. All volunteers who assisted in the recovery efforts are invited for some down time with an open bar and buffet. 6pm-8pm $20 donation for non-volunteers and $10 donation after 8pm. All monies raised will support recovery volunteer work. There will be a carpool going to this event after the vigil.

Flyers are attached (see below).

Blessings,
