MRE Logistics Breakdown

There is a standard 12 MREs/meals in a case, however, with the options you have, including the option to include downsized MREs or lighter portions, the standard case may allow for more MREs/meals.

There is a standard 48 cases per pallet.

A standard case of MREs/meals is 16"L x 11.5"W x 10"H and weighs 20lbs.

A total of 40 standard pallets will ship by truck

One truck equals 23,040 MRE’s

Unloading requires loading dock and forklift to move pallets and covered area to store.

Alternatively missing a loading dock,  a forklift on the ground can unload one row of pallets and a hand pallet mover can be lifted to truck and use to move pallets in the truck.

Last alternative is to do in-truck breakdown of cases and hand move to storage area.  The issue with this is that subsequent material moving becomes labor intensive. 

Cost-from web estimates-  A case contains  12 meals, which at $50 is $4.16 per meal.  At $75 a case with shipping  that's $6.25 per meal. The actual cost of MRE's is about twice as expensive as their counterparts. Estimated commercial costs
