Free Subway Shuttle Operating in Rockaways Amid Sandy Recovery

Primary tabs

Shuttle Service ScheduleA free subway shuttle service has started operating on the Rockaway Peninsula to assist straphangers who normally use the A train, where tracks from Howard Beach to the Rockways were almost completely destroyed by Sandy.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says that while work continues on the damaged tracks, the new H train shuttle service will help improve travel for residents of the Rockaways.

The shuttle will run every 15 minutes between the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue station and the Beach 90-Holland station.

Passengers can take the H to Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue and then transfer to the free shuttle bus to the Howard Beach station on the A train.

The H will run daily from 4 a.m. to 1 a.m. It began operating on Tuesday.
