Thanksgiving Dinners will take place at Saint Gertrude’s on Beach 38th Street and Beach Channel Drive, Veggie Island on Beach 96th Street and Rockaway Beach Blvd. and Ocean Village at 57-17 Shore Front Parkway. They will all be in need of set up help on Wed. and serving help on Thursday. Come by and help out!
Rockaway Youth Task Force will be hosting a dinner from 3pm-6pm at 321 Beach 57th Street in the Nordeck Community Room on THURSDAY

Immigrants struggle to cope in Sandy's aftermath
Superstorm Sandy plunged some immigrants living illegally in the U.S. into darkness and even deeper into the shadows.
Some of those who need help to get temporary housing and food are afraid to come forward because they risk deportation. And many have returned to damaged, powerless, moldy homes because they have no other place to stay.
