SI Community and Interfaith LTRO Updates

Primary tabs

The Staten Island Community and Interfaith Long Term Recovery Organization will not be holding any meetings this week in light of the 4th of July holiday.

Our next meeting will be a general assembly Wednesday, July 10th from 7:00-9:00pm at St. Christopher’s Community Center at 136 Midland Ave.

At this meeting, we will be voting on an additional five directors to the board of the LTRO (the current board consists of Tom Cunsolo, Goldi Guerra, Derek Tabacco, and Rev. Terry Troia). Voting on an additional five board members will allow us to strengthen our core leadership while still leaving space for new leaders to join or rise up who could be voted onto the board at a later time.

Please see the attached list of nominees. When the LTRO conducts a vote, each member organization will be given a ballot with which to cast their vote. Please see the attached list of member organizations. If your organization would like to join the LTRO, please return the attached membership form to ***@***.***. To receive a ballot on July 10th, new organizations must submit their membership forms by 5:00pm Monday, July 8th. Membership forms may not be submitted the same day as a vote if that organization wishes to participate in that vote (as the ballots will be prepared ahead of time).

**There will be a NYC Build it Back open house Tuesday, July 2nd from 6-9pm at New Dorp High School.Encourage Sandy impacted residents to come out and ask questions and sign up for the program!

**The Alliance for a Just Rebuilding has been working hard to document gaps in Sandy recovery programs and to bring that information to policymakers. All LTRO orgs should take a moment to complete the attached survey asking about the on-the-ground needs you are seeing. Please submit the survey before next Tuesday. AJR is doing just the kind of policy/advocacy work that the LTRO is invested in – let’s give them the info they need to get more city resources to our people!
